Road trip: Tenerife

During my visit to my old hometown in Tenerife (Spain), I had the chance to do a short road trip through this beautiful island.

What’s Tenerife?

Tenerife is the largest and most populated island of the seven Canary Islands in Spain. This island is known internationally as the “Island of Eternal Spring”. The island, which lies at the same latitude as the Sahara Desert, enjoys a warm tropical climate with an average of 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in the winter and 24–28 °C (75–82 °F) in the summer. It has a high annual total of days of sunshine, and low precipitation in all but the mountain areas. Click here for more info about Tenerife!

The road trip started at La Laguna and ended up at Masca. From La Laguna, I passed by Las Cañadas del Teide, Parque Nacional del Teide (Teide National Park), Montañas Negras, Masca and Teno

Tip: Teide is a volcano in Tenerife island and the highest point in Spain and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic with 3.718 meters

There are many routes back to the starting point. Since I was pretty close to Teno, I decided to have a look to Teno Alto and take some photos on the way before heading back home. The views along the road are stunning and the field contrasts are unique on this island, from green areas to desert within few meters

Tenerife island has plenty spots to visit and many alternatives for those Road trip lovers & photography passionate. The weather conditions may vary a lot, so even if on the city is cloudy or raining, perhaps on top of Cañadas del Teide is very sunny.

The fresh air, clean and blue skies makes this island unique, besides for its beauty, flora & fauna.

    1. Hello Zac!
Glad to know you like them and thanks for check my post! I grew up in Tenerife and I have plenty of good memories.
I recommend you to keep visiting the island, also you may drop by in other islands within few hours by speedboat if you feel bored. Has many options to enjoy Canary Islands.
One of my favorites places is Masca. All the route from Teide to Masca is awesome, you’d love it. Montañas negras also is pretty awesome, the forest growing in volcanic rocks is unique to see.
Hope you like if you visit soon, so far still well preserved!
